Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) – DBT is a therapy model designed for individuals with dysregulation of emotions. It emphasizes validation, or accepting uncomfortable thoughts, feelings and behaviors instead of struggling with them. By having an individual come to terms with the troubling thoughts, emotions or behaviors that they struggle with, change no longer appears impossible and they can work with me to create a gradual plan for recovery.
What does DBT help treat?
- Depression and anxiety
- Low mood and negative thoughts
- Mood Disorders
- Emotional Dysregulation
Evidence indicates that DBT may reduce the rate of depressive relapse by 50%. If you or someone you know may benefit from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, please contact me today for a free consultation. I would be happy to speak with you about how I may be able to help.
